Harrisburg-area voters who used to cast Election Day ballots at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church will need to go to Weddington Hills Elementary School starting with the Tuesday, Nov. 3 general election.
The Cabarrus County Board of Elections approved merging former Precincts 02-05 and 02-07 into a single new Precinct 02-10, according to the board's precinct locations page. Voters previously assigned to either precinct should now vote at Weddington Hills Elementary, 4401 Weddington Road, Concord.
The board has not publicly stated a reason for the consolidation.
What's on the ballot
The November election includes a $400 million bond referendum adopted by the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners on July 21. The two measures: up to $340 million in school bonds for constructing, renovating and equipping school buildings, and up to $60 million for Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. If approved, taxes sufficient to pay principal and interest would be levied on all taxable property in the county, according to the public bond notice signed by Board of Elections Chair H. Jay White, Sr.
