The Gibson Village Farmers Market enters its final weeks of the season, giving Concord shoppers a narrowing window to grab local produce, meat, crafts and soaps at 419 Kerr St. NW.

The Monday market runs from 4 to 7 p.m. through at least Aug. 31, according to the Independent Tribune's Cabarrus Calendar published Aug. 18. The Gibson Village website lists a Sept. 15 end date, so shoppers should check before making a late-season trip. In case of rain, the market moves inside the building.

Gibson Village sits in a USDA-designated food desert, according to a 2023 City of Concord community survey, making the weekly market a practical grocery stop for neighbors who otherwise face longer drives for fresh food.

  • Downtown Concord Market at Rotary Square, 11 S. Union St. — Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
