Three-time Grammy winner Linda Davis will perform at Concord's Davis Theatre on Sunday, Nov. 15, alongside husband Lang Scott and songwriter-comedian Bill Whyte.
The trio's touring show, "Evening in the Round," blends acoustic country music with behind-the-scenes Nashville stories and humor, according to the Independent Tribune. The Cabarrus Arts Council is presenting the performance at its 227-seat venue at 65 Union St. South in downtown Concord. The Cabarrus Arts Council said on Facebook the show starts at 4 p.m.
Davis is best known for her 1993 duet with Reba McEntire, "Does He Love You," which hit No. 1 on the Billboard country chart and earned both singers a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Collaboration. She later won two more Grammys as part of the Scott Family's 2016 album Love Remains, alongside daughter Hillary Scott of Lady A. The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame inducted Davis in 2009.
Scott, a country singer-songwriter and Davis' husband, won the first season of TNN's You Can Be a Star and secured a recording contract with MCA Records. He is also a two-time Grammy winner for his contributions to Love Remains. According to the show's artist page, Scott has performed multiple times at the Grand Ole Opry and spent seven years as a background vocalist and guitarist for McEntire.
Whyte brings a different flavor. A hit songwriter whose credits include songs recorded by Ray Stevens and Joe Nichols, he is also a longtime morning radio personality. He won the Country Music Association (CMA) Award for Best Large Market Personality and was inducted into the Country Radio Broadcast Hall of Fame in 2012, according to his booking page.
The Davis Theatre sits inside a restored 1876 courthouse. The Cabarrus Arts Council describes the space as an intimate venue with strong acoustics suited to genres like jazz, blues, Americana and roots music. Attendees can browse the building's first-floor art galleries and purchase local craft beer or wine before the show.
Tickets are available through the Cabarrus Arts Council. The show begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at 65 Union St. South in Concord.
