Three days of NASCAR playoff racing start Friday, Oct. 9, at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord. The Bank of America 400 weekend stretches well beyond laps around the 1.5-mile oval, with a free concert, driver access and off-site attractions across the region.

Tyler Hubbard, one half of the multi-platinum duo Florida Georgia Line and a solo country artist with 23 No. 1 singles, will perform a 60-minute pre-race concert ahead of Sunday's Cup Series finale. The show is included with any Bank of America 400 ticket, according to the speedway. Fans who purchase a Track Pass upgrade get stage-front access and a closer look at driver introductions.

Greg Walter, Charlotte Motor Speedway president and general manager, said the concert pairs with the return of oval playoff racing for the first time since 2017. The fall race had been held on the ROVAL road-course hybrid since 2018, as we reported Oct. 1.

The weekend schedule runs three races across NASCAR's top series. The EcoSave 200 Craftsman Truck Series race opens Friday, Oct. 9, at 5 p.m. The Blue Cross NC 300 O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race follows Saturday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m. The Bank of America 400 Cup Series race closes the weekend Sunday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m. All three count toward NASCAR's Chase playoff standings.

Beyond the track

The Fan Zone offers driver appearances, autograph sessions, interactive displays, merchandise and food throughout the weekend.

The speedway also opened The Hangar, a new food and beverage area inside Gate 6 on the 200 level, with specialty items including the Pimento Cheese Bacon Burger and Burnout Brisket Nachos.

Drivers encouraged fans to explore the region's racing roots before heading to the track. Team Penske Cup Series driver Ryan Blaney pointed to the concentration of race shops nearby.

"Charlotte Motor Speedway has so many things around it to do, whether you want to go to the city of Charlotte, which is, you know, 15 miles down the road, or if you want to go visit the race shops in Mooresville, that's 15 miles north," Blaney said Sunday, Oct. 4.

JR Motorsports O'Reilly Auto Parts Series driver Carson Kvapil echoed that, urging fans to arrive a day early and visit team shops and the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte.

The Hall of Fame is open Wednesday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with adult tickets at $29 and a $2 online discount. On Friday, Oct. 9, the museum hosts a Road to Induction event celebrating the Hall of Fame Class of 2027, which includes Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick and Larry Phillips.
